Affordability in
West Palm Beach

The cost of living in the City of West Palm Beach has increased dramatically in recent years. From rising utilities and property taxes to expensive parking and regulatory costs for small businesses, too many residents are feeling the financial strain.

As mayor, I will focus on practical solutions that lower everyday costs while ensuring our city remains financially responsible.

My Commitment to You

Lowering Property Taxes

Property taxes are a major factor in the rising cost of living. By responsibly lowering the millage rate, we can reduce property taxes for homeowners and make owning a home in West Palm Beach more attainable.

Lower property taxes will also benefit local businesses by reducing their property tax burden, helping them grow, hire employees, and continue serving our community.

Reducing Utility Costs

One of the biggest concerns residents raise is the cost of utilities. Water rates in the City of West Palm Beach are among the highest in Palm Beach County. We must take a serious look at how these costs are structured and work toward solutions that bring relief to residents while still maintaining the critical infrastructure our city depends on.

Making Our City More Accessible

Something as simple as grabbing a cup of coffee downtown should not come with an expensive parking bill. That’s why I will work to make the first two hours of parking free for West Palm Beach residents through ParkMobile.

This will make it easier for residents to enjoy their city while also supporting our local businesses by encouraging people to spend time in our downtown and neighborhood districts.

Supporting Local Businesses

Local businesses are the backbone of our city. When businesses struggle, prices rise and jobs disappear. We must make it easier—not harder—for entrepreneurs and small business owners to succeed.

That means:
• Reducing permit and licensing delays that increase startup costs
• Simplifying the city permitting process
• Reviewing fees and regulations that unnecessarily increase costs for small businesses

When small businesses thrive, our entire community benefits through job creation, economic growth, and vibrant neighborhoods.

Supporting Homeownership & Responsible Spending

Owning a home is one of the most important ways families build stability and long-term financial security. Unfortunately, many first-time buyers feel overwhelmed by the financial planning and budgeting required to purchase a home.

I will have the City of West Palm Beach partner with local financial institutions, housing experts, and community organizations to offer financial education classes for first-time homebuyers. These programs can help residents learn how to budget, build credit, save for a down payment, and plan responsibly for homeownership.

Making West Palm Beach more affordable starts with responsible leadership. By cutting wasteful spending and prioritizing essential services, we can ensure taxpayer dollars are used efficiently and effectively. Through smart budgeting and financial accountability, we can create a city government that works for residents while keeping West Palm Beach affordable for the people who call it home.
