Safety is My
Number One Priority

A strong community begins with safe neighborhoods, businesses, and public spaces.

My approach to public safety is proactive rather than reactive. I will work closely with our local law enforcement officers to ensure they have the support and resources they need to keep our neighborhoods safe. That means increasing visible patrols and growing our police force. Today, we have approximately 340 city police officers serving more than 125,000 residents, and our city needs greater resources to keep pace with our growth and ensure adequate coverage in every neighborhood.

The reality is that West Palm Beach faces serious challenges.

Current data shows that West Palm Beach is less safe than 88% of other communities in Florida and exceeds both state and national crime medians for violent and property crime rates.

We cannot ignore these numbers — they demand action, accountability, and leadership.

Police Officers

We must ensure our officers are given the proper training, equipment, and support to do their jobs safely and effectively.

Attracting and retaining the best talent requires competitive salaries, strong benefits, and a city that truly has its officers’ backs.

When our police officers put themselves on the line to protect our community, they deserve leadership that stands behind them.

Communication

Improving communication is essential.

Our officers must feel heard and supported, and they should have a clear line of communication with city leadership so they can share the challenges they face and the resources they need to do their jobs effectively.

I will work to strengthen the relationship between the Mayor’s Office, the Police Department, and the people of West Palm Beach, building trust, transparency, and collaboration across our community.

Stronger Infrastructure

We need stronger infrastructure within our justice system.

When officers make an arrest, there must be accountability and follow-through, so repeat offenders are not immediately back on the street committing the same crimes.

Public safety requires coordination between law enforcement, prosecutors, and the courts to ensure real consequences and safer outcomes for our community.

By working together—law enforcement, community leaders, and residents—we can take meaningful steps to reduce crime, restore trust, and create safer streets. My commitment is simple: protect our families, support our police, and ensure West Palm Beach is a city where everyone feels safe living, working, and raising their families.
